Uncharted Future is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built on a simple idea: there is no single right path forward... and nobody should have to find theirs while tripping over obstacles they didn't choose. We remove the barriers — money, access, information, the right introduction at the right time — so people can discover and pursue a future that fits them.
Why this exists
It started with “What about me?”
We were at a scholarship ceremony, watching student after student walk across the stage with a clear plan for what came next. My 13-year-old son looked around, then looked at me and asked that question. He’s a good student... curious, capable, and still figuring out what his future could look like.
And he knew he couldn’t be the only one.
So we built Uncharted Future for kids like him: students with plenty of potential who deserve support, opportunity, and room to discover a future that fits... whether that path leads to college, a skilled trade, entrepreneurship, or somewhere entirely their own.

Our role isn’t to tell people what comes next. It’s to remove the obstacle that keeps them from discovering it.
Practical help at the moment it matters.
Micro-grants, scholarships, mentorship, and local partnerships turn a stuck moment into forward motion. Small barriers shouldn’t decide big futures.
No judgment about the destination.
College, trade school, starting something of your own... a future that fits is the whole point. We help make the path possible and let people lead.
Who we are
The people behind the path
Uncharted Future was co-founded in September 2026 by Randy and his son — a retired educator of 36 years and a 13-year-old who asked a really good question. Randy spent three decades as a classroom teacher, directed AVID programs across 17 secondary schools, and led professional learning for educators nationwide... he’s spent his whole career watching students find their way, and building the supports that help them get there.
We’re based in Huntington Beach, California, and our work starts in Orange County — with students in grades 7 through 12 who are discovering their passions, exploring their options, and preparing for what’s next.
